 1 cup margarine
 ½ cup sugar
 ½ cup light corn syrup
 2 eggs, divided into whites and yolks
 2 ½ cups flour
 2 cups finely chopped nuts
 candied cherry halves

Mix margarine and sugar. Stir in corn syrup, egg yolks, and flour. Chill.

Roll chilled dough into 1-inch balls. Dip into slightly beaten egg whites, then nuts. Place on a greased baking sheet. Press cherry halves into centers. Bake in 325-degree oven 20 minutes.
Yield: 4 dozen
