 1 medium onion, chopped
 1 medium green pepper, chopped
 1 lb ground beef
1 can, 28 oz, tomatoes in puree
 1 ½ cups water
 2 tsp salt
 ½ tsp oregano
 red pepper flakes
 dash black pepper
6 oz (about 3 cups) medium egg noodles
1

Cut bacon into 1-inch pieces. In Dutch oven fry bacon until brown and crisp. Remove and set aside. Saute onion, green pepper and ground beef in drippings until beef is browned. Pour or skim off fat.

Add tomatoes, water, and seasonings; cover and simmer 10 minutes. Bring mixture to a full boil; add noodles, a few at a time, so that mixture continues to boil.
